Hyenas, they outnumber lions totally dominate leopards and wild dogs then live just fine with people even in urban environments. Intelligence wise they are on par with primates. Sadly their high point was before the ice age

Hyenas, they outnumber lions totally dominate leopards and wild dogs then live just fine with people even in urban environments. Intelligence wise they are on par with primates. Sadly their high point was before the ice age Adapting to man has to be appreciated, because the fact is humans just are a major environmental factor everywhere you look. Struggling to adapt to that force of nature has been the downfall of countless species. We tend to just get mad at humans for just being assholes and doing this bad stuff, and feeling sorry for the animals who failed to deal with it, and I'm on board with that, BUT some part of you has to admire the animals who were like "humans huh? Ok... I'll figure this out", and did. Black bears, coyotes, raccoons, kangaroos, leopards to an extent, puma equally, spotted hyena at least in some locations, the red fox, rats and pigeons and seagulls and frankly; all the domestic animals. Both those who found a domestic captive niche, and also BTW those who went feral with a newfound knack for co-existing with humans and thrived to a monumental degree. Feral cats, feral dogs, feral hogs... All crushing it bravely, in the wild, in this new world. We don't sing their praises enough IMO.
