A few blue heelers could potentially run a bison herd off a cliff I guess?

I told him about herding dogs being wolf-y ranchers and he's extrapolating them being able to long term beat a bison herd despite the fact that they would never try to kill them all unless we gave them dogman brains.

They would never want to "beat" the herd, neither would wolves. They want to nurture the herd, they want the herd to be prosperous, and then they harvest the odd individual from the flourishing herd.
Heelers would start harvesting bison once they figured out they are looking after themselves in a feral situation. But it would be mostly new born calves or pestering near-dead old bison to death.

I have to say this was due to me being uneducated. Blue Heelers could absolutely hunt bison, so could most working dogs. Debatable on certain Terriers like Patterdales and Jagd’s. Is it weird I always thought of Australian Cattle Dogs/Blue heelers (used to strictly call them Australian Cattle Dogs) as the most wolf-like dog when I was younger? Hardcastle Musth Bolushi
