Hammerhead has issued an official apology. I have decided to leave it up to the food chain members to vote on whether his ban gets lifted.
Voting closes in 24 hours (or when we reach 9 votes, whichever is sooner).

The poll is real. I'm not someone who yearns for power or seeks it out. I fell into the role of admin. I'd sincerely rather not be the one who makes the decision.

I honestly don’t know, it could be a 3 strike thing and he is good for the forum but like I said in my other comment, we are essentially his safety blanket that he will just keep coming back to whenever leaving doesn’t go well for him |

But if you don’t bring him back, I wouldn’t be against it, like I keep saying, we are not just something he can come back to when something doesn’t go well for him |

I'm new here so perhaps my opinion has zero credibility. I've had 2 forums thus far, Valhalla Forum and Baldar's Longboat. The latter was a ProBoard forum. I too have used the ban hammer, and also let a few back in.
What I have learnt from this is that the best way to ascertain how a member will behave in the future, is to observe how they behaved in the past. They simply do not change...they don't.
P.S. I've been unable to post on the Shoutbox. I'm presuming that there is a posting minimum requirement here.

Possibly true but a relapse by Hammerhead isn't gonna kill us or the forum, it's no biggy as far as I can see. He's also good a contributor so I'm fine with another chance. If he did what he did while also being something of a troll poster then I might have voted no. I didn't want to see a whitewash in the voting though, this shouldn't be an easy return. |
