My neighbors are nice but we don't talk and I'm shy. When it is needed, like in hurricane irma they kind of bro'd us up a bit and offered some help. And they help us catch Yoshi/they put him in a headlock like a bulldog catching a bull so we can leash him/walk Yoshi back home. Out on the farm we had this neighbour that was infamous in the area, anyone that turned up on his doorstep are straight away greeted with something like "Now you can go get fucked". And true story, his last name was Looney. Old super-paranoid bugger in his 80s, funny as shit he is. These are all of my significant (not significant at all, actually, but something...) neighborly interactions which there are exactly 2 of. At least 2 that I care to mention. One of our neighbors had this really pissed off pitbull that would run around the fence line whenever we stepped outside, dunno if it would actually do shit if push came to shove. We don't have a fence in our yard but they did right next to our yard. Barked all the time, then it disappeared. Was a decent looking pitbull too, IIRC. I don't think his owner was a good person, not because of his dog but because of a few things I don't quite recall. When I was younger I was told not to ride my bike over there. Another one of our neighbors had this kid, think he was in 6th grade. I played with him a bit but I was an inept loser and he went home and I never saw him again. Might've moved, but he only came a few times. My uncle has a really good relationship with his neighbors and they're very good friends. Their older kids play with his younger son. They also used to have a pet pig, I do not know if they still have it but it ate grass and was pretty cool.

I don't like neighbours that hold you up all the time or are always hanging on your doorstep, I don't want that and don't actually need to be legit friends with my neighbours. But the ones that literally never say hi I view as uncool dexter snobs. One of my current neighbour's literally never said a word, even in first introductions. That's just really fucking weird. My neighbors are nice but we don't talk and I'm shy. When it is needed, like in hurricane irma they kind of bro'd us up a bit and offered some help. I just don’t talk to my neighbors because I don’t like talking to people unless they are close friends or family

I edited it a few minutes ago, I changed it to “either close friends or family”, but that hasn’t stopped people from coming up to me and talking, that’s how I’ve met people, either they came up to me or they were friends of a friend. I pretty much have 2 close friends that i talk to on a daily basis irl I talk to much more people online then I do irl

Why don't you go find them with your bullies?

Why don't you go find them with your bullies? That’s a good idea ben (the pit mix) and Guapo (bully) have actually chased things away from the coop before (didn’t see what it was because it was night time Someone says they saw a cougar nearby so if that is true and I take the dogs to look for the coyotes I hope they don’t run into that instead

Why not?
They are probably at greater risk sleeping in your yard. If they go looking and find a cougar, that cougar is doing everything it can to get away from them. It won't have killing on it's mind in that scenario.

I live high up in the Rockie Mountains of British Columbia. The little town I live in is completely surrounded on all sides by national parks. You can't get here unless you drive through 2 parks, no matter from which side you are driving in from. There has been no hunting, trapping, or fishing, in these parks by law for over 120 years, no logging either. Try to imagine how wild it is up here.
We get bears, mountain lions, wolves, coyotes, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, moose , etc. coming right into town. If I look up in the sky I see eagles. I hear wolves at night and coyotes in the day. I have to slam on the brakes often just to prevent hitting a deer, elk, or a sheep on the highway.
But....the glaciers and the mountains make it all worth while. I've been up to the Swiss/French Alps...here it's even nicer.

Welcome @lbj ! Sounds absolutely idyllic for nature lovers like us. That pacific northwest zone of North America in general is surely one of the great animal lover's hotspots on earth.

Where I live has Canada's highest restaurant at 7,840 feet altitude. Canada's 2nd highest waterfall is also located 45 minutes away at 1,390 feet high. We also have a grizzly bear and a wolf preserve here.
