We are the ones who are gonna be here when the carnivora dream doesn't work, so just discretely try and join carnivora and see how it works out, you don't have to dramatically leave us and make a big deal about it, because you will probably want to come back again like last time. |

Carnivora is a legacy forum, which is why many animal fans still have some reverence for it. Not to mention it is one of the few AVA forums that is still alive considering many others are inactive. Only problem is that the quality has gone down from 2020 and onwards. It is like a dying movie franchise. People understand that the current sequels suck, but they will still try to watch the movie or purchase merchandise to try to be a part of their original movie nostalgia. You can't stop the person, but rather let him realize the decay of his beloved form of media on his own terms. |

I really don't want @hammerhead to leave, he has done a lot for us and is helping us a lot. I don't know why he has these weird psychotic freak outs where he feels he has to cut ties and leave. Maybe it will just be a monthly thing. I have a wife so I am used to that.

Just for the record, "Organised" is a little unfair, they have had many many years to organise themselves. We will get there slowly. But yes we will never be restrictive like carnivora, there will always intentionally be a slight "wild west" vibe that I value in a forum. Inspired by a little forum I used to be a member on called "The Rogan Board". That was Joe Rogan's main online presence which spawned his podcast. It was all F-words (both f-words) and naked chicks and crazy shit, mixed in with serious scientific discussions and everything, and it was cool. I don't want to sanitise things too much. I will admit Bolushi pushes it a bit too far at times. I will have to reign him in here and there, but I want to keep the authoritarian fascism that taipan is known for to a minimum. |

That hypocrisy we saw with Bill Cosby for many years is very similar to what we see from Taipan. Beware of anyone who presents as wholesome, it's usually a smokescreen for a deep darkness which is serious and disturbing. People who freely joke about inappropriate stuff are often the more innocent people in my experience. It's silly to them, to bad people being inappropriate is deathly serious. |
