In the meantime, coincidentally did anyone see Scottishwildcat returned to Carnivora and brought with him a tierlist creator he made. No reason we can't steal it- Animal Battles tier list.Pretty cool, you just drag the icons of the animals to where you want to put them. Just make sure to click on the little "shit" emoji, because he did post it on carnivora after all. I just whipped up a quick lazy cat one as an example-  Actually, I would think Snow leopard should be in the same tier as cougar and leopard. Sort of, though I may be wrong. Weirdly I kind of agree, but I think it just comes down to size. I do think the snow leopard is underrated and possibly lacks nothing compared to a leopard or puma at parity, but it is smaller if I'm not mistaken, so... |

I guess if I was going to question anything it would be that you've gone a little out of your way to make sure there is actually a bit of a gap between leopard and puma. I mean the step up from snow leopard to puma is only a "+", but from puma to leopards you've skipped B- which I guess indicates you think there's a somewhat significant space? That's a very hotly contested debate. The fact the puma apparently has slightly more robust limbs (according to the study) and also can attain bigger max weights makes it pretty contraversial to assert the leopard is notably it's superior. |

Yes I'm on the same page, I actually intended for there to be just one gap between leopard and puma, assuming B- equals C+. I wasn't quite sure whether those equaled one another so just assumed they did. Regarding leopard vs cougar I remember once adding all four limb ML percentages together and the leopard came out slightly ahead. However when talking about the important front limbs, yes the cougar is ahead. And as you say, the cougar has a small weight advantage. For these reasons I used to favour the cougar. What changed my mind was firstly reading on a bunch of other dimensions for the cats whereby I realized that on balance the leopard really is the more robust, stronger, heavier-set cat (at parity). As well, the greater gameness of the leopard as reflected in the greater sexual dimorphism of the leopard; the more game behaviour, and much greater aggressiveness it displays towards humans, during leopard hunts compared to cougar; and the panthera gameness factor. At parity I might almost give the leopard two gaps over cougar (one for physical superiority and another for gameness advantage), but given the cougar does have a little weight over the leopard I bring it back to one. I guess it really depends how much weight the cougar has over the leopard whether there should be a gap. If the cougar has 15 - 20 lbs on the leopard I'd probably go no gap. But no more than 10 lbs I'll give it one gap. |

I wanted to write you a letter to apologize for what I did.
What I did the other day was horribly inappropriate, disrespectful, and wildly selfish. Your forum is supposed to be all about people’s happiness and celebrating their love for animals. By arguing with you, I turned that focus on to me. I tried to steal your moment and that was wrong.
Multiple members told me that my actions ruined not only your experience of that thread, but also are now making your forum less than the incredible experience that it should be. I hope you understand that that was never my intention. I wanted you to be able to look back on this time and remember only happy things but I have ruined that with my selfish actions. I've robbed you of those happy memories. While I can't truly know how this feels to you, I can certainly understand that what I did was one of the worst things I could possibly have done to you.
This is an especially terrible thing for me to have done to you after how warmly you have accepted me into your forum. You have not only shown your incredible, beautiful love to everyone, but you have also shown me support and kindness that I never could have possibly expected. To hurt you in this way was an insult to all the things that you have done for me and I hate myself for that.
I would try to offer an explanation for what I did, but there are no excuses. My intentions, though good, don't matter here: only my poor choices. I absolutely take responsibility for my selfish actions and the terrible pain I have caused you.
But just being sorry isn't enough. You deserve better. If you let me back, I would love to create a big celebration thread in your honor. This will be the celebration to end all celebrations and it will be 100% devoted to celebrating the incredible love you share for animals with all of us. If you would rather not do this, that's fine: I just want to find some way to help you create the incredible, happy memories that I took away from you.
I can’t expect your forgiveness, though I certainly hope for it. All I can say is that I truly want things to be okay between us. I want you to feel okay and eventually even happy when you're around me. I want to earn back the wonderful relationship that we had. Hopefully, in the future, we can find a way to move past this and create happier times together. I have been reminiscing and reflecting on my immature behavior and would like to rekindle those fond memories. Thank you.

My ranking is based on these reasons:
S+ tier is the OG members who have helped establish these forums.
S-tier is all the guys who provided good info that Felids are above Canids for the most part. Forbiddenip was dumber than the others, but he provided good info for Canids getting owned.
A-tier is all the guys who are guys who provide good information and conservation.
B-tier is the guys who either provide good information or have good conservation but cannot perform both well at the same time like their A-tier counterparts.
C-tier is the guys who have their own information but are actually poor at utilizing them, and get owned or called out for it. Not to mention that they are the whiniest guys on the forum.
D-tier may not be as whiny as C-tier guys but they are belligerent fanboys who can ruin a good debate.
F-tier are just the worst of the lot.You are not sure if they are trolls or actually misinformed on many things.
Also this is a rough draft that might need a future update.

This is my 1st day here so I am devoid of any bias or preconceived notions but.....let me take a wild flying guess here. All those who have agreed with you in the past are in the intelligent category right? And all those who happened to have disagreed in the moron category. I'm not religious but holy flyin' Jesus! Carnivora forum is a place with an elderly criminal drug addict exercises his power over little children with infantile ideas. He has even turned on his most loyal members. I doubt you are familiar with it. These people believe a pride of lions refusing to engage a leopard means a leopard would effortlessly slaughter any canid, and also believe cougars can kill adult bison and wild boar devoid of any documentation or evidence. Shit show all around. Vast majority of smart/reasonable posters left, didn't join or got banned. Matter of fact all of them did, with Lycaon briefly commenting on the ocelot v jagdterrier thread. So really it's not possible to make a list of current intelligent posters because none exist. However, we can make a list based on carnivora standards which says absolutely nothing. A real snake indeed… |
