1. Boarhound (aka Bull Lurchers, option of additional ingredients but should be 25% or below of final dog's make up which should be mostly bull/sighthound- I can't deny these are my number 1 passion) 2. Red Deer 3. European Brown Hare 4. Bateleur Eagle 5. Brown Goshawk 6. Murray Cod 7. Stubble Quail 8. Staghound (aka long dog - most often greyhound x deerhound, sometimes grey x deer/wolf, possible small dash of something else. A working hunting sighthound for a variety of game) 9. Axis Deer 10. Queensland Lungfish
Ten is so limiting. Dragonflies are a great one, I love dragonflies, I'm happy if there are dragonflies around. To me they signal a healthy thriving ecosystem. Same with frogs which I also love. I love fish and aquatic life in general. Fish, Crustaceans, Molluscs, insect larvae in water (preferably running water), turtles ... all get me very excited. No one species blows my hair back (except for Murray Cod and lungfish), but the whole ecosystem of a freshwater stream is one of my favourite things.
As mentioned African Wild dogs are my favourite wild carnivore, but despite that I felt myself more compelled to add red foxes into this list, which I like a lot. I was kind of imagining animals I'd love to have around in my personal environment. Wild Boar just missed out, barely. Brazilian Tapir was in until I felt like I HAD to include the Lungfish. I love Brazilian Tapirs. Might be my favourite "exotic" animal. I've had to leave out Pheasant Coucal and Eastern Koel, which are two of my favourite birds as well. And Guinea Fowl. Not to even get started on all the grouse and pheasants and partridges and ptarmigan... I like lots of ground scurrying birds a lot. Birds and fish both I just have so so many I like. I could go on and on. It is tough to be limited to 10 like I said.
Bateleur Eagle is just my long time favourite bird of prey since I was a small child, but I've grown up to really love Brown Goshawks (and occassionally spotting them in the wild), I couldn't pick just one. But there are actually SO many birds of prey I feel strongly about. I was a bird of prey guy primarily for a long time. European badgers, wolverines, fishers and pine martens all got a snub but I want to stress that I really like these animals. Amazonian river otters too, damn I really like those guys. Jaguars and Lions. Rusa and Fallow Deer. Topi Antelope. Blackbuck antelope. Saiga Antelope. Takin. Scottish Highland cattle. Spanish fighting cattle. Mongrel scrub cattle. I love all cattle a lot, and most deer and most antelope. Barbados blackbelly sheep... again I had to leave out a lot of animals I really feel strongly about.

I had them in there at first, and then kept revising and squeezed them out. They'd be my third favourite type of dog for sure, and on another day may have made top ten. I think top 20 I definitely would have to find a spot.

Ants... eh... I like jumping bulldog ants, but still, probably not top 100. I thought we both hated brown/striped hyenas. Interesting.

Honorable face to face solitary combatants. I forgot I could include herbivores, guess guanacos and bulls may make the list too. Also forgot jaguar. Just threw up a bunch of random animals I liked. I hate spiders but ogre spiders strike me as the coolest best spider.

I kind of agree, the way they bully leopards off kills... I'll never buy into the whole "yep, smart, good move leopard. Don't even waste your time. Cool leopard" idea when leopards run in terror from hyenas or baboons or warthogs. No. Backing down is a bitch move. It is smart, but also bitch. It's smart when a human is a coward too, doesn't change the fact they're a coward. Backing down is always a forfeit, and a forfeit is always a LOSS. So yes. Striped and brown hyenas do have lots of "dubs" over leopards, and that makes them somewhat cool.
