Very close. AWDs could route the wolves totally, isolated and conquer. However any AWD that gets into it in a 1 on 1 with one of the wolves will die or be put out of the fight quickly. I think I would favor the wolves here, barely, but I could change my mind.
With that being said, if you doubled the numbers I'd take the AWDs.

I think I favour the AWDS, even 7 vs 7 I might, despite the fact 1 on 1 is a no brainer in favour of the wolf.
I might even favour 1 wolf against 2 AWDS, but once things creep up to "pack" numbers, the AWD morphs into a super organism. It's cohesion and pack strategy makes wolves look like clumsy amateurs.
7 might not quite get there, but 12 definitely.

If a wolf can catch the AWDs, a wolf can kill them fairly quickly. The 5 AWDs left unaccounted for could divide and conquer some of the wolves, but also a few would get unlucky and as the AWD numbers began to dwindle the wolves would get better and better as the AWDs get worse and worse until the wolves eventually win. |
